April Is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

In 2016 I worked with the school board and all county principals to implement a countywide sexual assault education initiative with the screening of the documentary It Happened Here and an informative Q&A session with Sarasota’s Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC) counselors. Over 1,500 students in Sarasota County viewed the documentary that takes an in-depth look at the growing incidence of sexual assault on college campuses. I am working to continue this program in 2017 to get even more students in the county to participate in the screening of this documentary.

If you would like to help me bring a screening of the documentary to your school, click on the Learn More icon.
